Fostering with CFP!
CFP intakes unwanted animals from the local community and partners with local animal shelters to help them from being overwhelmed, which puts them at significant risk of euthanization.
The love, training, and support you will provide as a foster will give one of these unwanted animals a chance! Our foster parents take pride in helping their animals find their forever homes. We ask that you provide the love and support for free, but CFP will pick up the tab for the rest.
CFP supports foster parents with the following:
- Supplies – Crates, leashes, bowls, blankets, etc
- Medical needs – CFP covers all necessary medical costs, including monthly heartworm and flea preventatives.
- Marketing – We market your foster via websites such as Adopt-a-Pet and social media (Facebook, Instagram, and tik tok)
- Professional Training – if needed.
- Support group – Social media network group where all fosters, from beginner to seasoned, can ask questions, share ideas, and offer advice and best practices.
The fostering commitment
Potential fosters must understand that it can be challenging at times. For example, some of these animals may have been abandoned, neglected, physically or mentally abused. Others are stray, so we have little knowledge of their history. Our fostering periods can range from months to a year or more. Because we do not yet have a facility, our fosters must be willing to keep their animals until adoption.
If you have continued to read this, then you are ready! Foster parents must have certain qualifications. If you feel you’re cut out for this or just curious, fill out our foster application below, and we will reach out and start the process.
